Welcome to our website about visual stress and coloured lens glasses. It has been designed to support parents and health/ educational professionals as they are ideally positioned to identify children who may be experiencing visual stress. Coloured lens glasses can help to relieve the symptoms of visual stress for some people.
Due to a perceived lack of centralised information, we set out to work with the community of interest to develop an on line resource to centralise information about the screening, assessment and provision of coloured lens glasses in England. Using an action research approach (Lewin 1944) led by Dr Priscilla Harries, a team of five MSc students, Sharon Wignall, Clare Parker, Lucy Perkins, Lisa Fowler and Esheeta Mangalpara undertook this project at Brunel University during 2011/2.
Suggestions and comments on the required content and layout of the web site were invited from teachers, head teachers, SENCOs, dyslexia advisors, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and students in these professions as well as parents, academics and providers of the coloured lens glasses. Thank you to all those who freely contributed their helpful thoughts to the process.
